Romer To Leave White House...

Christina Romer, chairwoman of Pres. Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, has decided to resign, according to a source familiar with her plans.

Romer, an economics professor at the University of California (Berkeley) before taking the key admin post, did not respond to repeated calls to her office.

Anyone care to venture that tomorrows unemployment numbers are going to be worse than the 9.6% predicted?

Rip van Winkle moment? Nathan Lane on SCOTUS?!?

Kagan Pledges to Uphold the Law, as Republicans Raise Concern Over 'Activism'
Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan pledged on Monday to do her best to consider "every case impartially, modestly, with commitment to principle and in accordance with law" if appointed to the nation's highest court.

Speaking on the first day of her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Kagan said the court must ensure that "our government never oversteps its proper bounds or violates the rights of individuals."

What is going on? I have been so enthralled with the WorldCup action like the rest of the US that I just found out that Nathan Lane has been nominated to be on the supreme court!

A little makeup, a blue suit and a clever play on the name "Elena" -- "Lane". But really, this is a little too much. When are the politicians in Washington going to get serious?

Sports grovelling

England got robbed. Clearly. They obviously (even before 40 different camera angles showed it) scored a second goal there in the first half. The ESPN commentator with the adorable accent mentioned that expense was one of the reasons they do not have instant replay in the FIFA World Cup.

Its annoying to me that every news/sports broadcast I see is touting how enamored the US is with this World Cup and 'soccer is finally taking hold' in the US. I am just not seeing it. Seems like someone is trying to move The Overton Window.

So, faxing these talking points to every news outlet in the states must have come out of the FIFA 'technology' budget. Of course, there wasn't anything left for instant replay.

Only a couple months until the real football season starts.

Alex not aiming at Gulf oil spill area - for now

By LISA LEFF and GREG BLUESTEIN, Associated Press Writers

NEW ORLEANS — A tropical storm slamming into parts of Mexico isn't taking aim at the massive Gulf oil spill - for now - though any system can quickly change course and send cleanup efforts grinding to a halt.

The AP is dying for a disaster. All is well in the Gulf, cleanup efforts are at full steam under the direction of the B.O. administration (it stinks). But the AP is teasing us with the "for now" headline. This headline is saying to me 'Stay tuned, we are relevant and we are telling you so.' So I am 'staying tuned' -- to the Drudge Report.

Al Gore A "Crazed Sex Poodle?"

From TSG...

Masseuse's claims read like R-rated vice presidential fan fiction

JUNE 24--In a bizarre statement to police, the Oregon woman who claims that Al Gore fondled and groped her during a massage session described the former Vice President as a giggling "crazed sex poodle" who gave a "come hither" look before pouncing on her in a Portland hotel suite.

Sex poodle?
Naw, sex walrus.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Citzen's arrest! Citizen's arrest!

CODEPINK Attempts Citizen's Arrest of Karl Rove at Book Signing
Karl Rove was not visible and later they snuck him in a back door and had him do his signing in the children’s section. The smiling staff was all around his area. The rest of us waited in line, next to Anne Rice’s Vampire books, a fitting place to wait. The dialogue in the line was about, Rove, Sarah Palin and some tea party stories. Amongst these admirers of Rove were undercover pinks and veterans for peace.

In this exclusive video, we see what went down in New Mexico that fateful day.

A Glorious Day!

It is a glorious day here. 79 degrees and sunny. Birds are singing, people are laughing. I read where weekly jobsless claims have fallen by 6000. The DJIA is closing in on 11000.

The Republic Endures!

Therefore, I hear-by announce I am switching my voter registration from Independent to Democrat.

It is not going to be so bad. I pretty much never get sick. I can telecommute instead of driving everyday. I am looking for someone to mow my lawn. I want to do my fair share to 'save the planet'.

So let me say, B., Joe, Nancy, Harry, you guys are great! Thank you for all you do and have done and will do. Please let me know what I can do to help you! Do you like campaign contributions? I don't have an airplane to fly you off to an exotic destination, but I can give you lots of love.

I am so happy to be aboard.

Study: Warming to bring stronger hurricanes

Study: Warming to bring stronger hurricanes

WASHINGTON — Top researchers now agree that the world is likely to get stronger but fewer hurricanes in the future because of global warming, seeming to settle a scientific debate on the subject. But they say there's not enough evidence yet to tell whether that effect has already begun.

Since just before Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005, dueling scientific papers have clashed about whether global warming is worsening hurricanes and will do so in the future. The new study seems to split the difference. A special World Meteorological Organization panel of 10 experts in both hurricanes and climate change - including leading scientists from both sides - came up with a consensus, which is published online Sunday in the journal Nature Geoscience.

This is a joke. Seth Borenstein says the debate is settled. You don't settle debate by consensus. I have not heard one mention of the scientific method. How about applying the scientific method and coming up with some cold hard evidence of global warming, let alone the effect on hurricanes. That is how you 'settle' debates. Lets have some data on what the hurricane season was like during the last ice age or the warming period during the Medieval Warm Period.

Remember climate scientists, Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. You have squandered your credibility and done great damage your reputation. It'll be a cold day in hell before many people believe another one of your 'studies'.

The lack of embarrassment by Mr. Borenstein and the consensus makers leads only to the conclusion that you climate change is a religion, these people are incredibly arrogant and they will do what ever it takes to push their political agenda.

Sound the Alarm!

Half of world's primate species endangered, report says

(CNN) -- Nearly half the world's primate species are in danger of extinction, according to a report released Wednesday by a major conservation group.

The main threat facing primates -- including apes, monkeys, and lemurs -- is tropical forest destruction, with the illegal wildlife trade and commercial bush meat hunting also playing roles.

This is hilarious. Somebody with a FAX machine and a logo put out a 'report'? CNN picks it up? That's hard hitting reporting!

The next (one sentence) paragraph is even better...

Scientists say primates are humankind's closest animal relatives.

That is supposed to scare you in to doing something. Me? I'm laughing (out loud).

So the global warming thing did not work out, lets go back to "save the rain forests"...and "save the whales". I did a piece on that already.

This is too much. How can anyone take the (unnamed) "major conservation group" seriously? How can anyone take CNN seriously?

Valentine's Day

Q. What do you get when you cross Valentine's Day and two weeks of major snowstorms?

A. A Baby Boom.

Look for a surge of little taxpayers to be born on the Mid-Atlantic states around November.

The One...

...everyone is laughing at.

I am smart enough to know that holding my breath until the media/pundits/left handed bloggers call this One an 'idiot' would be fatal. After all, they have all taken a 'hypocritical' oath.

The floundering president

Will BO get a bump from the State of the Union? According to Gallup, he is still falling right up until the speech.

Since he did not get his message (on healthcare reform) out, he is taking a new tack and out relating to the common man at basketball games. And according to Dan Loumena

President Obama a hit as a TV broadcaster

Barack Obama, commander in chief of the free world, gave notice that if things don't work out in politics then he just might end up behind the microphone doing basketball commentary.

Yo Danny, are you sure he wasn't reading off the teleprompter?

Being a Duke fan, I watched the game. Joe and BO were yucking it up, enjoying the game. Just like a couple of old pals. What a couple of great, regular guys. I was surprised they did not have their sleeves rolled up 'working hard for you'. Those great guys can relate to me. They are so awesome. (Gack! Sorry, I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.)

Sorry boys, I don't think you will win an Emmy.

Socialist phonies.

John Edwards - Girly man.

The John Edwards saga gets better all the time...
Deputies called to Edwards home in 2008

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Although they separated Wednesday, the marriage of John and Elizabeth Edwards had been rocky for some time, according to public records...

John Edwards took Elizabeth's wallet? Really? At least he wasn't violent...you know wouldn't want to mess up his hair. I wonder what he did to not get his allowance that week? Oh, maybe it was the whole fathering a child with Rielle Hunter thing...

The state of North Carolina is having a rash of corruption in the Democratic Party. Let the implosion continue...

Obama = Lincoln?

How come we have not heard The One compared to President Lincoln in a long while?

Dear Grandma,
Thanks for changing my diapers for 4 years. I really appreciate it. Here is $250. Please vote for me again.

Sincerely,
Barack (The One) Obama

Probably because he is embarrassing all of us!

One Big Assed Mistake, America and A New Hope

The One (that was) is being called out: Zuckerman, Krugman. Yo, lefties, the guy is a loser. Remember the Olympics, 2 governor races, now the people's Mass. senate seat.

What a week! I think there might be hope for this country after all. The media (AKA The Admistration's lapdogs) discounted the tea party, townhall, common folk. Surprise! They showed up when it counted in Massachusetts. Now, everyone knows we are out there, we are now impossible to ignore. However, the arrogant elitists are still ignoring us. It's hard for us to understand that, but I think it is like a criminal who thinks he won't get caught. The judgment is clouded by this arrogance. Thank God for that. I just hope they keep it up.

They say it is darkest before the dawn. 2009 was dark, the economy in the tank, the rise of socialism, fascism, the debt, etc.

We are back, baby. Let freedom ring!

PS
Are there any of us common folk who are in support of Obama? I am hearing speculation that he may not be invited back for a second term.
