Black Lake Golf Club is the newest addition to the UAW’s Walter and May Reuther Family Education Center, situated on 1,000 heavily forested acres along the southeast side of Black Lake, one of Michigan’s largest inland lakes near Onaway, Michigan.

Black Lake Golf Club complements the Center’s recreational facilities, which now include a beautiful gym with two full-sized basketball courts, an Olympic-size indoor pool, and exercise and weight room, table-tennis and pool tables, a sauna, beaches, walking and bike trails, softball and soccer fields and a boat launch ramp.

The UAW selected one of golf’s most acclaimed course architects, Rees Jones, to design an environmentally responsible, championship caliber course. It was a challenge eagerly embraced by Jones, Golf World Magazine’s “Architect of the Year” in 1995.

Lifetime Memberships: Open to only UAW Members and UAW Retirees. Additional information upon inquiry.

Annual Memberships: Open to only UAW Members and UAW Retirees. Unlimited green fees. Members pay only for cart. Cart must be used, unless playing after twilight. Additional information upon inquiry.

So Media pressures the Big 3 execs into hitch-hiking down to DC to be treated like children at the congressional hearings...not one word about the UAW Country Club. But at least I feel a little better that not ALL union dues go to democrat coffers, they spent some on a golf course that can be used for four months of the year. Though, the Olympic sized pool is indoors so presumably could be used all year...

End corporate welfare!

The country would be a whole lot better off if there was an end to corporate welfare by the Big 3.

The 'corporate welfare' that I am talking about is the way the Big 3 have been coerced by the UAW to provide welfare benefits to the union members.

There should be no bail out for the Big 3. If they fail, it will hurt the auto workers, suppliers, and globally on down the line. The Big 3's web is world-wide. To the auto worker, I'm sorry for you. But you are an American, so get off your ass and pull yourself up. After all there are no guarantees or free lunches in life.

If the Big 3 fail, they will be back. Smaller, faster, leaner, smarter. This is their chance to bust the UAW. It is their chance for a new start. There is just no way we can continue down the path we are on.

For now, the Republic endures.
