CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- The Rev. Michael Pfleger has ordered the American flag at St. Sabina Church hung upside-down -- a historic sign of distress -- to symbolize the growing death toll among the city's youngsters.
So far this school year, 36 children and teens have been murdered -- more than one a week -- and Pfleger is among a chorus of weary Chicagoans who say the slayings aren't getting the attention they deserve.
Chicago. It's controlled by a powerful democrat party. It's hometown of the president. It's a dangerous place to be a kid.
More kids have been murdered in Chicago than have died of the swine flu in the entire country.
So this issue is getting some national attention. You know what we'll will hear out of Chi-town..."we need more tax dollars for programs to protect these kids."
Folks, that ain't the answer. Its time for a change. When will people wake up and realize the democrats are playing them? When the teat runs dry?

I will agree that this is terrible however, 4000 children die daily due to abortions, many of these are minorities. Where is your outrage for this?
Abortion has nothing to do with the above. Moreover, the author never said he is outraged over this one issue alone. Are you telling me we have to mention abortion in every article involving outrage or tragedy?
Oh, I am with you there on abortion, too... http://obamas1st100days.blogspot.com/2009/01/day-4-busy-today.html
There is nothing political about one young kid shooting another. I am sorry to see people on these message boards trying to use articles to forward their own political agendas. Anyway...
You know only two people died from swine flu right? Just checking. Also, what is the non-democratic, non-home-of-the-president solution you are proposing? Tax breaks? You guys should challenge yourselves and your party to come up with some actual solutions to problems, rather than playing into the hands of the democrats.
Obama sure did a great job with Chicago... Makes one really comfortable that this moron can organizate the rest of this nation as well (I say organize as that is the only experience he has).
